Free Speech Zone: Euclid Corridor could face little-publicized delays
To the Editor:
The Feb. 11 issue of The Observer reported exciting news about the plans for the Euclid Corridor. The city of Cleveland has worked wonderfully with the FTA, GCRTA, and the Congressional Transportation Committees to develop thisidea that will revitalize the downtown area and connect the economic and cultural centers of Cleveland – if it happens.
As reported in The Free Times on Wednesday, Jan. 26, the project is currently at a standstill and facing serious problems before it could even be considered a done deal. The roadblock for the project is the lack of designated bike lanes between CSU and Case. The city of Cleveland has told the GCRTA that they will flat out not support the project at all until the designs have been altered to support their argument. "The approval process was tabled until RTA and ODOT find a solution."
Just to update you and the community on the facts of the project that aren't highly touted and publicized.
