Bench bunch sparks Spartans in win over Thiel

It was a night of the unexpected for Monday's men's basketball game against the Thiel Tomcats. The game featured fighting, technical fouls, and a surprise appearance by the entire Case bench early in the second half. However, the result on the scoreboard was a typical one as of late for the Spartans, as they easily beat Thiel, 84-58.Senior guard Funso Lafe led Case with 18 points on an impressive shooting night.[read more]

GPS system to allow students to track Greenies
Students who ride Greenies will be able to track their location and predict when it will arrive at specific stops.

Starting next semester, students who use the Greenies will be able to determine the estimated time of arrival for different shuttles. At seven Greenie stops around campus, there will be a digital display showing how long it will be until the next Greenie arrives, according to Richard Jamieson, associate vice president for Campus Services. The system is currently being installed.[read more]

Hundert's salary is among highest
President Edward Hundert at the annual Louis Stokes Leadership Symposium held earlier in October. He has been ranked as one of the highest paid presidents at a research university.

In an issue published by the Chronicle of Higher Education, Case's president, Edward Hundert was ranked as one of the highest paid presidents at a research university.The publication reported that Hundert received a salary of $754, 868 for the 2003-04 academic year. However, officials at Case report that this sum is incorrect and off by about $100,000. The amount included a portion of his compensation from the 2002-03 year.[read more]

Student filmmakers pave new ground at Case

Case students Jesse Barrett-Mills and Gideon Spero tell theirs with the camcorder and editing booth; they are pursuing film-making as a career and hobby, respectively. Yes, that's right. Film-making.Barrett-Mills is a senior triple majoring in English, sociology, and film/film directing – a major he designed and created on his own. He first got into film-making during a high school trip to Ireland.[read more]
