Case Concert Celebration rocks audience

Five out of five Clevelanders agree: the only things that surpass the Dutch violinist Janine Jansen's beauty are her musical skills and the Cleveland Orchestra's hospitality at the fourth annual Case Concert Celebration. The concert took place at Severance Hall Monday, Jan. 23 to a sold-out crowd of over 2000, according to Kate Coleman, an assistant director in the Office of Alumni Relations who helped organize the event.[read more]

More delays in bridge construction
Construction on Adelbert Bridge has begun although its completion date is still undetermined.  Officials expect the construction to be completed by Sept. 2006.

More delays lie ahead for the completion of the Adelbert Road Bridge on the south side of campus. Though the construction was promised to be completed by mid-summer of 2006, it has been pushed back to an estimated date of September 2006. However, even with the delayed completion date, the final bridge may very well be finished afte r the expected date. "It may not be achievable," Kenneth Basch, Vice President of Campus Planning and Operations, said.[read more]

Spartans ruin Pittsburgh's perfect sports weekend
Mason Conrad scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds in Case's 53-50 loss to Rochester on Sunday.

Before Pittsburgh sports fans were in euphoria after the Steelers' win in Sunday's AFC Championship Game, they were in dire despair. At least the student body of Carnegie Mellon was, as Case's men's basketball team upset the 11th-ranked Tartans, 72-69, before a standing-room only crowd in Skibo Gymnasium. The win was arguably the biggest of the season for the Spartans, since Carnegie Mellon is regarded by many as the finest team in the UAA.[read more]

Work on glass lifts Lady Spartans over Tartans
Ashley Horton's work on the offensive glass made the difference in the Lady Spartans' 64-48 win over Carnegie Mellon last Friday.

The Lady Spartans split a pair on the road to UAA conference foes last weekend, beating Carnegie Mellon 64-48 on Friday and losing to Rochester 73-55 on Sunday. The team finished the weekend with a 9-7 overall record (2-3 conference), sitting in fifth place in the eight team UAA. The Spartans took control of the game against Carnegie Mellon early, grabbing a 14-4 lead with 12:26 left in the first half.[read more]
