Case should increase effort to honor Black History Month
Just over two weeks ago, Case was honored with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service award. It was presented by the City of Cleveland, The Cleveland Orchestra, and Greater Cleveland Partnership, and recognizes the positive impact of parties who follow the ideologies of Dr. King. Erb stars again, leads women to victory at Spartan Relays
The Spartan indoor track and field teams had impressive performances last week at Case's own Spartan Relays. The women took first place and had one runner make two provisional qualifying times for nationals. The men finished third and also had a runner make a nationals qualifying time. Esther Erb had another impressive meet. She won both the one-mile and the 5000-meter races, provisionally qualifying for nationals, and was named UAA Athlete of the Week.[read more]
Harry Belafonte to speak at Case
On Tuesday, world renowned activist, singer, and actor Harry Belafonte will speak at Strosacker Auditorium at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will be followed by a question and answer period. Belafonte is currently a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, the second American to hold the title, and is the Chairman of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Fund. Although students may remember him for his popular discography, Belafonte feels that his job as an artist demands more.[read more]
North Residential Village weight room filled with heavy woes
It's 10 p.m. – do you know where your cardio machine is?If it's in the exercise room in The Village, you'd better be patient; the late evening hours are peak time for aerobic activity among Northside residents. While the weight machines usually have no wait, the treadmills and elliptical machines are invariably in use, leading many students to complain about the quantity and quality of exercise equipment available to the increased number of Northside residents.[read more]
