Concerns voiced at USG Forum

The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) traded in its regular meeting in Adelbert Hall this week in order to hold an open forum discussion in Wade's Fireside Lounge. With a high attendance rate, the topics of the forum ranged from lost and found items to the meal plan. The purpose of the open forum discussion was to bring the USG to the students and allow students to raise their concerns directly with the members of the student government.[read more]

New academic policy changes are for the better, but could prove troublesome

The university recently made two large changes to the undergraduate academic policies. As of fall 2006, the university's Pass/No Pass policy will change for the better. Instead of waiting until the last three days of classes – amid exams and final projects – to submit the request, students will have the opportunity to do so at any point during the semester. The new policy also allows students to rescind on this decision once.[read more]

Case Western students have come to look upon the early months of the new year with feelings of dread. Between the return of regular homework assignments and the continuation of harsh weather, many folks may have forgotten that the winter brings some welcome occasions as well. Coinciding with Valentine's Day is the annual Snowball dance, which promises a memorable evening to all who attend.[read more]

Spartans let Throwback finale slip away against Judges
Senior guard Funso Lafe, shown above in last Friday's loss to NYU,  scored 10 points in that game and led Case with 24 points in Sunday's game against Brandeis.

The games that hurt the most are the ones that teams feel they should have won, or the ones that slipped away at the end. The men's basketball team endured a loss like this on Sunday at the Adelbert Gym, falling to the Brandeis Judges, 74-70 in overtime, after having a 38-28 lead at halftime.The Spartans, wearing Case Tech Rough Rider uniforms as part of Throwback Weekend, struggled offensively during the first few minutes of the game.[read more]
