Faculty, administration discuss vote of no confidence with Case students
Every chair in the Thwing Atrium was filled Tuesday night as students and faculty gathered to listen to the Arts and Sciences faculty explain the votes of no confidence in President Edward Hundert and Provost John Anderson. After the faculty spoke, Hundert and Anderson discussed their actions and the direction of the university. The meeting ended with an hour-and-a-half discussion for students only.[read more]
Pitching, chemistry help softball team overcome change
As the old saying goes, "out with the old, and in with the new." That adage is appropriate when looking at the Case softball team's roster entering the upcoming 2006 season. Nine players will be new to the team, including five freshmen, after seven players departed from last year's team. Despite all the change, head coach Jennie Amodio believes her team has quite a bit of talent and that it will be successful. Much of that talent will be found at the center of the diamond this spring.[read more]
Student Global AIDS Campaign underway at Case
Sophomores Kathryn Martires and Nilu Khan, with the help of graduate student Amanda Perkett, have been working hard on the newcampus group Student Global AIDS Campaign (SGAC). The national organization was founded in February 2001, but the Case chapter is just being born this semester.The group's appearance is certainly timely.[read more]
Students, administration step up to new challenges
Cheers to the Case student body. While many uncertainties still surround the vote of no confidence, the absence of a student role in determining the fate of the president and provost has never been unclear. However, that has not stopped Case students from informing themselves about the situation, taking a side, and sharing their feelings on the matter with others.[read more]
