Lucinda Williams has become a national treasure, a ragged poet of southern nostalgia and regret. Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, 1998's rumination on childhood and passion, ranks as one of Americana's all-time great albums. She's now on an acoustic tour with her guitarist, trying some new tunes for an album to be recorded later this year. This is a rare opportunity to see one of our finest songwriters in a stripped-down and intimate setting. Time: 8 p.m. Cost: $25-$45. Location: House of Blues, 308 Euclid Ave. Info: www.hob.com

Don't go to tonight's Bellydance Superstars performance with your mind in the gutter, rather, think of the exotically clad, salaciously gyrating women onstage as an ensemble like Riverdance, bringing a little taste of ethnic culture to America's heartland. The troupe's latest show, Raqs Carnivale, features more than a dozen women onstage with a live percussionist; think ballet, but hotter. Time: 8 p.m. Cost: $35-$50. Location: Allen Theatre, 1407 Euclid Ave. Info: www.playhousesquare.com

There's also a little bit of education tossed into the revelry: Traditional stories outline the history of the holiday and the people. Time: 1-4 p.m. Cost: free Location: Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, 2929 Richmond Rd., Beachwood. Info: www.maltzjewishmuseum.org
