In its native Australia, Wolfmother is huge. Its debut album snagged just about every award possible last year in the Aussie edition of Rolling Stone. The CD is due stateside next month, following the January release of the Dimensions EP, in which the high-coiffed trio comes on like a mix of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and the Mars Volta – complete with all the pretension and balls-out rocking that implies.Time: 7 and 9 p.m. Cost: $10. Forget watching Old School for the fiftieth time this year – relax with a classic movie, like Harold and Maude, courtesy of Film Society. The plot goes something like this: a 20 year-old death-obsessed man befriends a 79 year-old woman and gets engaged to her. Head over to Strosacker to see how this bad boy turns out! A reworking of a Chinese fable, Turandot allowed Puccini to play with sounds and styles. Cleveland Opera's production, which opens tonight, features lavish sets, international stars, and a princess with one hell of an attitude. The story's royal protagonist quizzes potential suitors with three riddles. If they miss one, she kills them. Talk about pressure! But the plot is secondary to the soaring arias on display.
