Doc Oc memorial long overdue

One year ago next month marks the university's loss of one of its greatest, most influential teaching professors. Professor Ignacio "Doc Oc" Ocasio passed away on May 14, leaving behind a legacy 30 years in the making. As of yet, no permanent memorial have been established in his honor. Rooms in the Village at 115 no longer in demand
The lottery process for housing in the Village for next year has begun.  Currently, not all rooms in the Village have been filled.

The decision to extend the deadline for junior and senior housing applications from March 20 to March 31 has created a lot of chatter among students, especially those who remember last year's battle for campus housing in the new Village at 115. But the problem is not that the Village is less desirable. It's a numbers game.Even after the extended deadline, there are still spots available for upperclass housing, which includes the Village, Tippit, and the university-owned apartments.[read more]

Softball team keeps momentum rolling on the road
Courtney Geib had several clutch hits in the past week, including two RBI singles in the Lady Spartans' 2-1 win over Calvin College last Saturday.

Other than the possible exception of the men's tennis team, no Case spring athletic team is on a roll like the women's softball team. After a difficult UAA tournament in Florida, the ladies have a respectable 10-8-1 record since their return. More impressively, the Lady Spartans have won four of their last six games (as of press time), which all came in doubleheaders on the road on three consecutive days. That is a very grueling schedule for any team at any level, especially this late in the season.[read more]
