Interim president arrives to greet the Case community
Gregory L. Eastwood, currently president of SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y., is set to serve as interim president effective June 2.

A few weeks following the announcement of President Edward Hundert's resignation, the Board of Trustees announced that Gregory L. Eastwood, M.D. had been elected the interim president of Case effective June 2. The date for Hundert's departure has therfore changed to June 2, instead of the planned September date."The timetable has changed a little and the transfer of duties will occur in June," Eastwood said.[read more]

The end of the semester is fast approaching, and so it is time to wrap up all of those outstanding issues and loose ends before you leave for the summer. So get out your piece of paper and start jotting down some notes from which to work. Think about those events that have had the greatest impact on you this year. Go all the way back to the beginning of the year and include both good and bad…now, let's sort the list.[read more]

Offensive burst produces first Spartan victory at Jacobs Field
Third baseman Kevin Haley scored two runs in Case's 9-8 victory over Hiram College at Jacobs Field on Wednesday.

In typical Case baseball fashion, the Spartans made things interesting but were able to pull out a 9-8 victory over Hiram College at Jacobs Field on Wednesday afternoon. Case jumped out to a 9-2 lead after five innings behind a solid offensive effort.Hiram got things started early in the game with two runs in the top of the first inning. A single, double, and sacrifice fly gave the Terriers their only lead of the game. Case responded with three runs in the bottom of the first.[read more]

Phi Kappa Psi hosts annual softball tournament

As summer approaches and temperatures rise, students are able to enjoy the outdoors even more. Taking advantage of the nice weather is the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, who will host their ninth annual softball tournament to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Rainbow Chapter. The games will run from noon on Saturday, April 22 to noon on Sunday, April 23.The tournament is very relaxed in that teams can choose to come and only play a single game.[read more]

Run-offs scheduled for USG elections
During the general assembly meeting, USG members decided to hold a run-off election for contested offices.  The elections will be held Monday and Tuesday.  Brian Sauer officiates.

The votes from the USG election have been tabulated and the election results are in. Over 1100 students voted in the election earlier this month. Positions that did not have a candidate receiving a majority of the vote are scheduled for run-offs to be held online on Monday and Tuesday.Several of the positions for USG Executive Committee, including that of the President and Vice President of Public Relations, did not have a definite winner.[read more]
