Boone and Violets just too much for Spartans in Big Apple
Quinton Mathis and the men's basketball team played better against NYU on Sunday, but it was not enough to prevent a 69-52 loss at the hands of the Violets.

The good news for the Spartan men's basketball team is that they only have to face Jason Boone one more time. The bad news is that they saw him for the penultimate time on Sunday at New York University and were dealt a 69-52 loss at the hands of the Violets. The defeat dropped Case's record to 4-12 (0-5 UAA).Despite the final outcome, the Spartans remained within striking distance throughout most of the game.[read more]

Lady Spartans' tough trip to the East Coast ends in losses
Colleen Martin had a solid weekend for the Lady Spartans, leading the team with 14 points against Brandeis and scoring nine more against NYU.

Any UAA women's basketball team that makes its annual trip to the East Coast to play Brandeis and New York knows that it is in for a difficult weekend of basketball. Such was the case for the Case Lady Spartans last weekend, as they were unable to get a victory in either game, dropping the first to Brandeis on Friday night, 85-58, and the second to the Lady Violets, 88-74, in New York City on Sunday.[read more]

New Year's resolutions easily made manageable
According to University Counseling Services psychologist Dr. William Hale, setting reasonable resolutions and not giving up after set backs is the key to success with New Year's resolutions.

The sparkling apple cider has been poured, the ball dropped, and Dick Clark has packed up and left the studio. New Year's Eve has ended, and the real thing has come: the New Year. Walking into Veale, it quickly becomes apparent what really defines New Year's: the resolutions. People take a good, long look at their lives, decide what they don't like about themselves, and resolve to do better next time.[read more]
