Available student resources promote sex safer at Case
Throughout history, sexual germs of all sorts have plagued humanity. Pandemic levels of gonorrhea prompted the U.S. Navy to close the Storyville district of New Orleans, and many historical figures, including Francisco Goya, John Adams, Ivan the Terrible, and even Al Capone are alleged to have contracted syphilis. The modern college student has even more sexual problems to face, including HIV/AIDS, viruses that cause cancer, and a society that considers sex as taboo as ever.[read more]
Throwback Weekend ends losing skid for Lady Spartans
Last Friday in Adelbert Gymnasium, the Case Lady Spartans snapped their seven-game losing streak with a convincing 76-59 win over the Tartans of Carnegie Mellon. Sporting yellow jerseys for the evening to honor Mather College, the Spartans jumped out to an early lead against the Tartans. "It was definitely a good win for us," said senior guard Dana Dempsey.[read more]
USG proposes alcohol amnesty resolution
Currently, students are subject to judicial action from the university when seeking medical attention in alcohol-related emergencies. However, this could change if the Alcohol Amnesty resolution passed by USG is instituted by Case administration. In late October of 2006, USG sent all undergraduates a survey designed to determine students' sentiment regarding the judicial process at Case. Students were asked whether they had been sanctioned by Case authority.[read more]
