Epic visually lush 300 first worthwhile film of 2007
Film today is still an art, but it also has grown into a multi-billion dollar commercial business. Selling a product obviously is the number one priority of production studios releasing a multi-million dollar film, yet usually the director and his/her team of creators on a film wish to establish their own mark on a film and give audiences something they have never seen before. Credit needs to be given to the new technology and ambitious projects that are taken on by filmmakers in and out of Hollywood.[read more]
Erb, Hrinda, and Hannen bring home victories
The Spartans' indoor track and field teams traveled to Boston last Friday and Saturday to compete at the UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Brandeis University. The men placed sixth and the women took fifth. "One of the positive things about this tournament was that you could see the team really beginning to gel and mature. That's something that doesn't get included in the point total," said coach Dennis Harris. "If we had a couple more people score, we would have moved up a couple spots.[read more]
Sagartz sisters to share softball diamond one last time next week
Pitching seven games in the span of three days would be enough to give anyone a very sore shoulder. Pitching seven games in the span of three days, with a chronic shoulder injury, would seem unimaginable to most people. Then again, Ruthe Sagartz, a pitcher on the varsity softball team, is not like most people. Sagartz started playing softball at a young age.
