Zeta Psi encourages students to eat and run

Zeta Psi is planning a philanthropy event that promises to be fun for the whole campus.

The Zeta Psi Qdoba Relays will be held on April 14 at the NRV Track. Registration is currently open for teams to sign up. Each team consists of four runners: each runner runs one lap, eats a burrito, then runs another lap around the track.

Don't worry; Zeta Psi assures that there will be trash cans set up around the track – just in case a runner lacks the digestive fortitude to keep a burrito down. The fastest team can count on a variety of prizes from local sponsors – for example, each team member will receive one burrito a month for the next year.

The money raised by the Zeta Psi Qdoba Relays will go to support Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital like many other events on campus, such as Phi Mu's recent Hoopapaluza, which raised over $1000.

Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital will be present the day of the relays to accept a check with all the money raised. They are enthusiastic about the Case campus getting involved and are looking forward to watching the races.

The Qdoba Relays offers a unique opportunity to involve more than just campus organizations. All students can sign up teams to raise money and compete for a catered Qdoba taco party for 40 people. These teams can consist of as many students as they want, from any organization. Residence halls, floors, suites, club teams, sports teams, group project teams – anyone can form a team.

All a team needs to do is sign up for a Team ID number, then encourage parents, friends, and faculty to donate online. When they donate, there is a form to enter in that group's Team ID.

The relays will be held at the track located in the Village at 115, right across the street from the freshman dorms. This location makes it easy for students to watch the entertainment and provides a chance for corporate sponsors (including Qdoba) to set up a table or booth. Students can expect music, prize giveaways, raffles, and cheap tacos the day of the event.

Some students are touting the Qdoba Relays as warmups for the Hudson Relays, which will take place on April 28. If they can run, eat, and run at the Zeta Psi Qdoba Relays, they should be prepared for the Hudson Relays.

Regardless of whether or not students participate or compete for the prizes, they should come out to watch.

The Qdoba Relays website describes the event in more detail and features a motivational video to inspire the campus. It also provides contact information students to get involved. The site is located at http://www.case.edu/orgs/zeta_psi/qdoba/index.html.
