Sex & Dating: Spring Fever

It's that time in the semester where spirits are really dragging. Spring break is over and there are no breaks to look forward to until summer but we have to make it through the rest of classes and finals first. It's the perfect time to cheer up your honey with a sweet springtime surprise.

Buy her a springtime bouquet. Before you give it to her, buy one silk flower that matches the rest, and stick it somewhere in the middle so it blends. Tell her that you'll love her until the last flower dies. Sure she might be bawling as the other flowers wilt and she waits for the apparent end of the relationship, but as soon as she realizes your trick, she'll think you're the sweetest guy in town.

Grab some tickets to the Indians' home opener on April 6. Nothing says springtime (for men) like baseball, so a pair of tickets to the first game is sure to be a good surprise. If you have the cash, pick up a little something extra (maybe given before the tickets as a clue!) like a cap or one of those big foam fingers. If you really want to go all out, include a hand-written coupon for one free ice cream cone at the game…compliments of you.

The smell of a springtime rain is one of the most relaxing scents there is. Next time it pours, make some coffee, tea, or cocoa and invite your darling outside to a porch with an overhang. She'll love to be able to be outside with the rain while staying cozy and dry, cuddled up with you.

If she's the adventurous type and it's a very warm day (at least 75 degrees), go for a walk. Bring clothes that she won't mind getting wet or even a bathing suit to wear underneath. If she's brave enough to do it, you'll both find there are few things more romantic than a stroll beneath the raindrops.

Explore garage sales, flea markets, or Salvo to try and find an old-school snow cone machine. If you can find it at one of these spots, it shouldn't cost more than a few dollars. Find out beforehand what his favorite flavor was as a kid and then grab that at the grocery store. Surprise him with this classic summertime treat indoors on an especially gray and rainy day, or meet him outside with it when it's feeling like summer weather. To be super cute, make a cone that swirls your two favorite flavors together. Awww.

No matter what you decide to do, use the spirit of springtime to liven up your relationship! Even when your darling isn't in the doldrums, it's still a great idea to take advantage of the nice weather. It gives you a chance to move away from the few things you could do together during the winter months (just say no to another laptop DVD session!). Every outdoor activity seems a lot sweeter right after the escape from winter, so be sure to do everything you can before the novelty wears off!
