USG officers to be elected

President

Name: Adam Rupe

Year: Class of 2008

Previous positions held: USG Vice President of Public Relations, Class of 2008 President, USG Chief Judicial Officer, Class of 2008 Treasurer

Once elected: As USG President, I would focus on accountability and connecting with the students. I want to find out what the average student wants for Case and will try and get it accomplished. Furthermore, I want students to understand what USG can do for them and how they can use us to make their lives better.

Main goal for the position: Connect students to administrators, faculty, and staff and hold USG accountable for its actions and duties as elected representative of the student body.

Main goal for USG in general: Serve the students by representing them, whether that be lobbying for them to the university administration, funding their student organizations, or listening to their problems in order to solve them and better student life at Case.

Name: Robert Hobohm

Year: Class of 2008

Previous positions held: Mistletoe Representative, College of Arts and Sciences Representative, and Representative-at-Large. Served on Judicial, Public Relations, Development, Academic Affairs, and Constitutional Committees.

Once elected: If elected I will work towards making USG a more accountable and representative body. I will represent the best interests of the student body with a new perspective and a critical eye geared toward change.

Main goal for the position: Ensure that the student body is capably and professionally represented in an active manner focused on the best interests of the student body.

Once elected: If elected I will continue with projects I have already started on the Academic Affairs Committee, which include researching and presenting to the administration plans such as guaranteed tuition, tax-free text books, reform in the SAGES program, and a modified class schedule. I also intend to open up the committee's projects to the student body before any legislation is written to go to General Assembly, thereby allowing the committee to truly serve the student body's wishes.

Main goal for the position: Improve students' academic life at Case!

Main goal for USG in general: Improve the reputation of the organization by increasing transparency in all of our endeavors to enhance student life at Case.

Name: Timothy Beutler

Year: Class of 2008

Previous positions held: 2005-2006 Arts and Sciences Representative (Academic Affairs Committee, Role of a Representative Task Force), 2006-2007 Representative-at-large (Finance Committee)

Once elected: Once elected I will listen to the academic concerns of my fellow undergraduates and work with the administration, faculty, and other students to address their concerns in a timely and efficient manner. Three topics that are of particular interest for me next year are the average work load for students, the use and support of the arts and athletics in relation to other academic fields, and service learning especially in the greater Cleveland community. Talking about the academic problems that Case students face is one thing, but finding workable solutions and enacting a plan of action is quite another level of leadership altogether.

Main goal for the position: To make known the academic concerns of the undergraduate body and work to find real solutions to real problems.

Main goal for USG in general: To represent and make known the concerns of the undergraduate student body to the administration and faculty.
