Brief Case
Class Officers join Student Executive Council
Following a vote by the representatives of the Student Executive Council (SEC) and a campus-wide referendum vote held on April 9 and 10, the SEC has voted to include the Class Officer Collective as a member organization of the SEC starting in Fall 2007, with full voting rights starting in Spring 2008. Effective Fall 2007, new percentages will be used to distribute the Student Activities Fee among the member organizations. The new percentages are as follows:
UPB: 41.77
USG: 24.86
Media Board: 3.89 Greeks (IFC and Panhel): 22.11 Class Officers: 7.37
These percentages apply to the amount of the Student Activities Fee that remains after money has been set aside for Springfest and Senior Week.

Student group sponsors Organ Donation Awareness Week
Case group Students for Organ Donation Awareness (SODA) is hosting events next week to raise money for a set of conjoined twins, Anastasia and Tatiana Dogaru from Rome, Italy. Surgeons are donating their time to the operation, but other medical expenses could cost more than $1 million.
Events planned for the week include a mixer on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Hovorka Atrium, a speaker in Thwing Meeting Room A on Thursday during Provost Hour, and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Friday from 6-9 p.m. in Adelbert Gym.
Thursday's speakers will include an organ donor, an organ recipient, and a transplant surgeon talking about their experiences.
The basketball tournament costs $10 to enter, with all proceeds going toward the twins' surgery.
Members of SODA will also be selling Organ Donation Awareness wristbands and ribbons throughout the week as well as providing information about organ donation and registering students to become donors.
Students not able to participate in the week's events can still donate money, including CaseCash, to the cause at the SODA table in Nord.
Second Life gives second chance to attend concert
Red {an orchestra} will be performing tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the Masonic Auditorium in Cleveland, with a digital simulcast at Case... in Second Life.
This Case Western is a part of the OneCleveland area of Second Life, an online 3-D community. Its virtual amphitheatre, as well as that of the New Media Consortium area, will play host to 50 avatars (online representations of real people) and stream the orchestra's live performance to the users.
"Red strives to REDefine, REDesign and REDiscover the classical music experience so that it appeals to new, younger audiences through innovative programming and artistic collaborations. This is a logical, and very exciting extension of our mission," said Mary Holmes, Board President of Red {an orchestra}.
