Check out Salome, the debut show of Opera Cleveland, a new opera troupe formed last year. Composed by Richard Strauss, Salome is far from a typical opera. Coming in at only 90 minutes, the operetta tells the story of King Herod's sexpot daughter, Salome, and their dysfunctional family. Get your cool science kick for the weekend at the NASA Glenn Visitor Center's fourth annual Star Gazing event. In addition to various meteors, moon rocks, and other space-related stuff, there is an interactive star room where you can experience what it is really like to be in space. Tonight, the Film Society shows Latter Days, a love story about a young Mormon boy and a West Hollywood waiter. Co-sponsored by Spectrum, the event caps off Break the Silence week. The Cleveland Museum of Art holds their Circle of Masks festival today. Participants can make their very own super-colorful mask, then wear it in the annual Parade the Circle event in June. Even if you're not here for the summer, who doesn't want to make a mask and wear it around campus? The event ends with a performance by the Inlet Dancers. Time: 1 p.m. Cost: Free. To celebrate Earth Day, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is holding its annual EarthFest. All of the regular zoo attractions are open, plus an organic food market, an exhibit on clean-fuel vehicles and lots of hands-on activities. Cinematheque, the Cleveland Institute of Art's alternative film theatre, is showing .E.M.I.T tonight, a showcase of new film and digital shorts made by CIA students. The show is organized by the digital media branch of CIA, but the shorts included come from a large variety of majors.
