USG Briefs
President Neil Ursic reported that the USG office has finally received new furniture for the office renovation.
Myles Nickolich, VP of Student Life, reported that his committee would be addressing the topic of campus security. His committee has reviewed Case's political activities policy and has made recommendations. 1-2-1 Fitness week continues until Sunday. Nickolich said he wants to gage the interest in the program.
Gasser, VP of Finance, reported that mass funding for next semester is over.
Dustin Fisher, VP of Academic Affairs, encouraged all students to buckle down and get ready for the end of the semester.
Adam Rupe, VP of Public Relations, reported that the USG inauguration is Tuesday. He recruited volunteers for the spring Study Over. The First General Assembly meeting in the fall is Aug. 28.
Nominations are being accepted for the positions of USG Treasurer, Secretary, and Interim VP of IT.
The mass funding bill which was tabled last week was reintroduced and passed with minor changes. The total mass funding bill is now $136,750. The budget for the USG fall retreat was increased to $3500 in order to have it off campus. Representatives felt it would be a more productive meeting if held off campus.
Bill B 16-17 was passed unanimously. The bill recognizes 134 student organizations and provides $106,699.15 in funding for the organizations.
Nickolich introduced a resolution to ask Case to reform the current political activities policy. The resolution calls the current policy "prohibitive." The bill was sent back to the Student Life Committee for further review.
