Tonight, the Film Society shows Children of Men. Starring Clive Owen, Julianne Moore, and Michael Caine, this stylish thriller involves a government agent who transports a pregnant woman to a sanctuary where her child can be born, possibly saving mankind from its own imminent destruction. If you're feeling a little adventurous, check out Year of the Boar, a Chinese silk scroll exhibit located in Cleveland's own Asia Town. Matthew Cook's collection of Chinese silk scrolls are on display at the Studio of 5 Rings, and today is also the last day the studio remains at its current location before it moves to Rocky River. Come out and support your classmates and Case alumni in the Hudson Relays. Now in its ninety-sixth year, the annual 26-mile footrace commemorates the move of Western Reserve College from Hudson to University Circle. The regionally-acclaimed Cleveland Institute of Music's Opera Theater puts on their final concert of the year. Entitled DO Make a Scene!, this final performance is comprised of multiple scenes of famous operas and operettas, and CIM's phenomenal singers will be tackling them with nothing more than piano accompaniment. Casey Crescenzo, formerly of the emo-punk band Receiving Ends of Sirens, has recently launched a new project known as the "Dear Hunter: both an indie-rock band, and an ambitious multi-album cycle chronicling the life of a boy known only as the Dear Hunter.." What better way to celebrate the onset of baseball season than to trek over to the Great Lakes Science Center to see the National Baseball Hall of Fame's traveling exhibit, Baseball as America? The exhibition contains over 500 pieces that help explain our society's fascination with everyone's favorite pastime and how it has affected our society in the years past. Tuesday, May 1

For any fans of punk or metal, the show the Agora has put together will be quite a treat. They are welcoming headliners From Autumn to Ashes and Haste the Day, along with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Alesana, and Twelve Gauge Valentine. Wednesday, May 2

Finals start tomorrow, but for one last reprieve before the final week begins, check out the Anonymous 4, an all-female quartet, performing medieval chants and ancient hymns to close out the Cleveland Museum of Art's "VIVA!" season. The New York-based quartet also sings some folk ballads and gospel songs that originated in the 1800s in the mountains of Tennessee and Kentucky. What a nice, mellow way to herald in hell week. Tonight, the House of Blues hosts alternative rock favorite Relient K. Fresh off the release of their new album, Five Score and Seven Years Ago, the band is headlining the evening, while rock bands Mae and Sherwood open for the quintet.
