Case offers easier way to spend
Case and U.S. Bank have recently teamed up to extend the CaseOneCard's uses and possibilities. Students who sign up for a U.S. Bank student checking account can use their CaseOneCard as an ATM and debit card on and off campus.
Instead of having separate ATM, debit, and Case Cash cards, students can now have three in one with 1.2 million locations nationwide accepting the CaseOneCard as a debit card. Case students can now ideally use only one card for all purposes, whether on campus or at home.
"Having all three services–debit, CaseOne, and ATM–all on one card," said student Jeremy Safran, "I no longer have to worry about having to contact three different providers if my wallet's stolen. Until now, I was not all that keen on carrying a debit card, but now that my CaseOne card can function as both, most of the hassle is eliminated."
Students must open a checking account through U.S. Bank in order to activate their IDs, but the bank boasts withdrawal and deposit transactions with no charge at any U.S. Bank.
"I am personally a member of U.S. Bank, and they are very good when it comes to student accounts and student credit cards," said student Kristen Peterson.
"My only concern with the idea is that I'd be afraid if I lost my card, people would have easy access to my money. You never know how safe your card is."
"I'm not opposed to it, but I don't think a lot of students would take advantage of it. I'm not sure how big of a hit it will be. Most students already have their own checking accounts set up at other banks," said student Erica Hoffman.
This new offer is just another attempt at simplifying student funds and accounts on campus, but students will ultimately decide how practical and safe the idea is.
