In Shakespeare's classic comedy, Love's Labours Lost, four men swear off women, until, conveniently, four women arrive on the scene and hilarity ensues. The Great Lakes Theater Festival is featuring the Bard's work because of its parallels in the modern world, but you'll have to see it yourself to see how it ends. Or you could read it, but that wouldn't be nearly as much fun. Time: Sunday, 3 p.m.; Wednesday-Saturday, 7:30 p.m. through Oct. 20. Cost: $13-$56. Location: Ohio Theater, Playhouse Square. Info: www.playhousesquare.org

Monday, Oct. 2

Homework sucks. Veruca Salt doesn't (I'm not talking about that whiny little girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.) Check them out tonight at the House of Blues; with Agent Sparks and the Strays. Time: 8 p.m. Cost: $15-$17. Location: House of Blues, 308 Euclid Ave. Info: www.hob.com

Make it easier by heading over to the Spot to catch Nicholas Megalis, one of those catchy singer-songwriter boys with pianos that are all the rage these days, and indie-popsters Bears. As always, cheap beverages and wings are yours for the taking. Time: 9:30 p.m. Cost: free. Location: the Spot. Info: upb.case.edu
