Defense driving record-breaking season for men's soccer
An unquestioned, age-old adage in the sports world is that 'defense wins championships.' The men's soccer team is putting that theory to the test this season with their stingy defense, which has led to being ranked 15th in the nation. After only 11 games, the Spartans have blazed to a record-setting 10-0-1 record and have only allowed two goals throughout the entire season.[read more]
Taylor's goal helps Spartan earn tie at Brandeis
Last Saturday, the Lady Spartan soccer team traveled to Boston for its first taste of UAA action. Through regulation and two overtimes, neither team could budge the score past the 1-1 mark set late in the second half. Sophomore goalie Kirsten McClain racked up 13 saves on the day, preventing a shot-happy Brandeis team from pulling ahead.The goal came from senior Amber Taylor off a slot from freshman Katie Fromwiller.
