Case alum mixes his way to musical fame
Mixing top 40 music and adding acoustic touches, Gillis creates a completely new and revolutionary style of music.

Imagine: One weekend, 100 degree weather, 80,000 fans, and one massive music festival held at the Pimlico horse racing track in Baltimore, Maryland. Now, jam-pack that weekend with some serious frolicking, unbelievable tunes, and a dash of inspiration, and you have one incredible event that just happens to showcase one of Case's very own. Gregg Gillis '04, a Pittsburgh native, recently gave up his 9-to-5 biomedical engineering position to follow his dreams of musical stardom.[read more]

Case welcomes first female president
Barbara Snyder took office as the president of Case Western Reserve University on July 1.  Snyder plans to work closely with university constituents to create a strategic plan that is "not mine, but ours."

Returning students will see a lot of new faces on campus this fall, from the incoming freshman class to new faculty members, but the most important face is that of Case's new president, Barbara Snyder.Snyder comes to Case from The Ohio State University, where she was a professor in the Moritz College of Law. She officially took office on July 1 and was invested at Convocation on Wednesday.Snyder finished up at Ohio State in June, but she started her work at Case even before that.[read more]

In spite of the torrential rain and sweltering heat of the past week, there are now about 1150 new first-year students moved into the North Residential Village. For many returning students, the first week of their first year brings back memories of a time filled with change and uncertainty. Much of that surrounded housing: the traditional concerns of whether or not you would get along with your roommate, if you'd like your room, or if you'd even be able to survive without your parents there to check on you.[read more]

Youthful women's soccer program strives to improve
The women's soccer team begins their season today.  Underclassmen like Katie Fromwiller (pictured) will be a critical part of the team's success.

This season, the Case women's soccer team is sporting a new face at the helm and a new attitude on the field. Youth and energy are the best way to describe what the Spartans will bring to their contests this year. First and foremost is new coach Tiffany Crooks. Crooks, only five years removed from her playing days at Ashland University, is ready to handle the responsibility that comes with a head coaching job.[read more]
