Fantasy Tips: Week 10

There is a new rushing king in the NFL. Against the San Diego Chargers, rookie running back Adrian Peterson rushed for 296 yards, setting the new single game record. Peterson has been stunning the NFL all season, leading the league in rushing with 1036 yards at the halfway mark. With such a great rookie campaign, sports pundits are already predicting a perennial monster. But before you fantasy nuts start thinking about this guy as the next number one pick, take a stroll down memory lane to Mr. Carnell Williams. Cadillac was a great runner when he came into the league. Though he shared time, he put up over 1000 yards his first season and followed it with a decent sophomore year. But the quick back's body could not take the wear and tear of the NFL and his 2007 season ended early. A true fan of the NFL can only hope that the same fate does not fall upon this year's phenomenon.

RB

Larry Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs – To all the fantasy owners who were stuck starting Larry Johnson every week only because he is the LJ and were rewarded for their loyalty with minimal points: you finally have a reason to bench him. Most likely out with a right ankle sprain this Sunday, in his place returns Priest Holmes. Once one of the best backs in the league, Holmes will share carries with rookie Kolby Smith. I wouldn't expect anything out of either of these subs. If LJ can't run behind that line, I don't predict either of these guys having more success. WATCH OUT.

WR

Chris Henry, Cincinnati Bengals – Guess who's back? The return of Chris Henry comes at a great time for the Bengals. With Chad Johnson hurt, Henry will be the complement to Houserdaddy against the tough Ravens secondary. Once the Chad returns to the lineup, this will be another formidable threesome for Carson Palmer to throw to. PICK UP.

DEF

Detroit Lions – Underdog is here! No one respects the Lions defense, but surprisingly the boys in blue have had an impressive season. They're putting up the second most fantasy points, yet they are only owned in less than 30 percent of ESPN leagues. Chances are that they are available in your league, and if so, grab them before the rest of your league takes notice. PICK UP
