USG Briefs
President Adam Rupe reported that the executive committee is finalizing the budget this week, and he will be bringing it for a vote next week at the General Assembly.
Committee and Caucus Reports:
Myles Nickolich, VP of Student Life, is looking for a Student Life Monitor for the Student Life Committee. If interested, please contact him at myles@case.edu. The committee is still working on a posting policy.
David Gasser, VP of Finance, reported that mass funding is due on Nov. 9. The finance committee will be presenting a budget at the next GA meeting.
David Poerschke, VP of Academic Affairs, has been contacting administrators in regard to midterm grades. Students are concerned about the lack of midterm grades, and the academic affairs committee is investigating this concern.
Stephanie Crawley, VP of Public Relations, reported that the USG Open Forum, "Come On, Get Happy," has been moved to Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Thwing Atrium. President Rupe will be the USG candidate for the Mr. CWRU competition.
Vice provost Don Feke presented information on classroom organization, and explained the reasoning behind the proposed changes to the course grid. Concerns included a lack of classroom space and double-scheduling between academics and extracurriculars.
The College of Arts and Sciences election was tabled until next week.
Emily Breckenfelder was elected as a representative to the Weatherhead School of Management.
New Business:
Resolution R. 17-08: A Resolution to limit academic responsibility during fall break was introduced. The resolution recommends that students not be assigned homework over fall break. The resolution passed.
The Student Life and PR Committees are starting an initiative to increase enrollment in the CaseWarn alert system.
