Friday, Nov. 9

Classical music takes a twist with So Percussion, a quartet with four Ivy-League students in their 20s. Not impressed? So Percussion uses modern-day objects in everyday life to mimic orchestral music. Check out the band the New York Times called "brilliant" tonight and open up your world. Saturday, Nov. 10

Spectrum hosts their fourth annual Drag Ball tonight. The charity event allocates half of the proceeds to a charity of Spectrum's choosing as well as to a charity chosen by the campus group with the most participants. Come check out all the beautiful kings, queens, and everything in between at one of the most entertaining student group events of the year. Time: 8 p.m. to midnight Cost: Free (entry). After you dance the night away with that beautiful girl (or guy) at Drag Ball, cool down with another slick performance put on by CWRU's premier short-form improvisational comedy troupe, IMPROVment. Sunday, Nov. 11

Independent theatre comes to Case's own campus with the presentation of The Shadow of a Gunman, a play set in 1920 surrounding the struggle for Irish independence. A mix of comedy and tragedy, Eldred's latest show has been called a masterpiece by some. Director Mark Alan Gordon leads the way.

Monday, Nov. 12

Women in Leadership Week (WILW) kicks off tonight with a talk by Dr. Susan Hinze, professor of sociology. The topic of discussion is about how women can work together to change the workplace culture, addressing both current barriers and specific examples of female accomplishments. Tuesday, Nov. 13

Juliette and the Licks, fronted by Juliette Lewis, who was nominated for an Academy Award in Cape Fear, has been called "one of the hottest women of rock music" by Blender Magazine and once dated Brad Pitt. No more reasons are needed to see this sizzling band.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

Winners of the first annual MTV2 "Ultimate Metal God" award, the band As I Lay Dying comes to the legendary House of Blues to lay waste to the courageous ears of its audience. Lead vocalist Tim Lambesis says his band's name has nothing to do with the Faulkner novel of literary fame, but we don't believe him. Find out for yourself tonight.

Thursday, Nov. 15

Masumi Hayashi, killed by a gunshot in 2006, was one of Cleveland's own, teaching at Cleveland State for nearly 25 years, winning awards from the National Endowment of Arts and a Fulbright fellowship among other things. Born in a Japanese relocation camp during WWII, Hayashi's life experiences moved her to become a prolific artist, specifically in the realm of photography. Check out her exhibit entitled "Meditations: Remembering Injustice" today.
