Based on the classic holiday film that was actually filmed in Cleveland, A Christmas Story has been adapted for the stage by Phil Grecian. MaDaCol, or the Mather Dance Collective, is Case's own dance ensemble, comprised of various undergraduate dancers as well as members from the greater Cleveland community. Case's Habitat for Humanity kicks off the Christmas season with a holiday party to raise awareness about homelessness through food, egg nog, and gingerbread. David Tinapple and Cleveland's own Adri Wicher proudly present an exhibition of photography, specifically addressing the idea of an image's capacity to capture information. Photography, they say, becomes a device at their disposal to display information. Sounds interesting enough; perhaps some of the information presented will be on your organic chemistry final. The Cleveland Museum of Art rings in the holidays with a Lantern Festival starting at 1 p.m. and going until 6 p.m. Other players in the event include a reporter from the Plain Dealer, a TV station manager, an FBI specialist, and last but certainly not least, the Cleveland Boys Choir. Dave Fleischer runs a neat little event at the Cleveland Cinematheque regarding film animation. The program will feature several animated short films made between 1912 and 1980.
