Sororities, fraternities support each other
To the Editor:
As a member of Greek Life, I feel that the author of this past week's "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" column unfairly portrayed Greek Week and the sort of competition that occurs between members of the Greek community. I also attended Greek III and although I was not pleased with the speaker or his message, I felt that that event had very little to do with the rest of Greek Week (other than the fact that it was an event that many Greek members attended).
While I was particularly proud when my sorority did well, I also cheered on my friends in other chapters. I found that instead of causing petty divisions between sororities and fraternities (as the author suggests), Greek Week gave my sorority a chance to support and be supported by other chapters. Because this was Kappa Alpha Theta's first Greek Week, some of my sisters were apprehensive about how we would do in certain events, but in each and every event, we received nothing but warm support from the other chapters, fraternities and sororities alike. I am so grateful for all the members of the Greek community who did their best this past week to show my sorority that we were welcome.
