Case's track dedicated to former Case coach Bill Sudeck
The proposed North Campus Fieldhouse is being funded in part by a $250,000 donation from alumnus James Wyant. Wyant's donation also spurred the university to name the NRV track after former Case track and cross country coach Bill Sudeck.

The scene is Howard Johnson's restaurant, a diner where students would stop to get breakfast near the Case Institute of Technology's campus. It's the fall of 1961 and James Wyant, a freshman, is standing at the register, ready to pay for his meal, when a man approached him."Are you a freshman?" he asks. "Have you run some?"Wyant told him yes, that he was a freshman at Case and that he was a runner in high school.[read more]

Law school rankings take a tumble

In the U.S. News & World Report graduate school rankings published April 7, Case received a few unpleasant surprises. Its programs in law, engineering, and medicine all suffered drops from last year's numbers in the nationally recognized rankings.The medical school dropped from No. 21 to 23, although the overall overall score remained the same at 58. Northwestern University and Emory University passed Case in the rankings to claim the No. 20 spot.[read more]

USG providing $15,000 for project to improve student life

One thing that Case organizations typically don't find is $15,000 in spare funds they can use to get a project off the ground. For a group with the right plan, though, the USG Student Life Improvement Grant, designed to foster student life improvements, could change that.The bill establishing the grant, presented in USG last week, calls for a committee overseeing the process to be selected by the USG president.[read more]
