Sophomore Jenn Clever, who transferred from Miami University before the beginning of this school year, is a pre-med student who is majoring in biomedical engineering. Clever is also the wins leader for the women's tennis team.

Greg Meyer: Who inspired you to start playing tennis?

Jenn Clever: I would say my mom was really the person who inspired me to play. She always encouraged me to try lots of different sports when I was younger in order to decide which I liked. So I started playing tennis in eighth grade and I loved it, so I've been playing ever since.

GM: Throw crap at the wall and see what sticks, right? Who is your favorite athlete?

JC: Well, my favorite tennis athlete is definitely Maria Sharapova, and no, not just because she's gorgeous. I think she's an awesome athlete, super talented, and she always looks good while playing; she has the cutest tennis dresses!

GM: Yeah cute dresses… And when I say cute I mean really short… And when I say really short I mean she is hot. What is your favorite quote?

JC: "I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles."

GM: I wish that laughing stuff was true. Not only would you burn calories, but every girl would be pretty. Would you rather have the strength of 1000 women, be able to fly, or be invisible?

JC: I would definitely want to be able to fly. I'm always in a hurry, whether I'm actually late for something or not, and it would be awesome if I could just fly places and get there 10 times faster.

GM: I am willing to bet that it is more toward the actually late side. What would we find in your locker right now that might surprise us?

JC: Lots of pink ribbons. I like to wear a pink ribbon in my hair when I play, to add some bright pink flair to the plain blue and white of our uniforms.

GM: That's a great idea! I was wondering what I could do to my football uniform next season. If you could participate in any other sport, which would you pick and why?

JC: If I could play another sport, it would be volleyball. I'm way too intimidated by the sport to actually play, but I love watching. It's a much more exciting, action-filled game, and I like that the entire team works together on the court.

GM: Yeah, I would be a little intimidated by volleyball too. I could never pull off those shorts. If they made a movie about your life, who would you want to play you?

JC: Definitely Reese Witherspoon. Have you seen the movie Legally Blonde? It's my favorite movie, and Reese plays Elle Woods, whom I love and can totally relate to!

GM: Like totally!? I would like to point out to our readers that Jenn answered all of these questions in hot pink font. You think I'm kidding. What are your hobbies when not playing tennis?

JC: I'm a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, so I spend a lot of time with my sorority sisters, whom I am obsessed with. I am also involved in WISER (Women In Science and Engineering Roundtable); student ambassadors; CASA; and am volunteer at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Whatever free time I have, I try to keep up on the celebrity tabloids and obviously, I love shopping.

GM: Wow, you must have some serious walking to do for the Relay for Life on Friday night. Better bring your People magazine. Any insight on how the season is going so far?

JC: The season is coming to a close this weekend, when we'll be going to Washington University in St. Louis for the UAA Championships. Overall, I think we had a very successful season given our situation. With an interim coach, girls from the old and new tennis teams, and lots of cold/rainy weather, we managed to come together and had some great team wins. Hopefully we will play our absolute best tennis this weekend and bring home some wins for Case!

GM: Wins? Better bring home the championship. Good luck.
