Editorial: Budget deficit can be easily managed

It seems that everyone with a voice has something to say about the state of Case's budget lately. The Plain Dealer and Crain's Cleveland Business both ran editorials on Monday detailing their respective suggestions for solving Case's $20 million problem.The faculty, staff, and especially the students of this university have a responsibility to help find ways to alleviate the budget deficit.[read more]

Cross country keeps pace with tough conference competition
Junior Dominic Smith has sparked the success of the men's cross country team this season, finishing fifth at the UAA Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.

Though they were running in Boston, Case's cross country program took a long stride toward Northfield, Minn., where the NCAA National Championships will be held in two weeks. The men's cross country team (25th, Div. III) placed third and the women's team (8th, Div. III) took second at the UAA Championship on Saturday. The men's third-place finish is a significant improvement from last year, when they placed seventh in the UAA.[read more]

Cuban-American artist Alberto Rey brings art to Case
Alberto Rey: Cuban-American Artist, the current exhibit running at Case's very own Art Studio, features acclaimed work and a symposium today from 2 to 4 p.m.

On Sunday, Case's Department of Art opened its latest exhibit, entitled Alberto Rey: Cuban-American Artist in the Art Studio. As the title states, the exhibition contains the work of Alberto Rey, who holds the title of "Distinguished Professor for Research and Creative Activity" at SUNY Fredonia. The Case exhibit contains a representative piece or two from each of the series he has worked on throughout his career. There is also a SAGES seminar on Rey's work being taught by Lynette Bosch this semester.[read more]
