Great domestic exchange programs available

To the Editor:

Studying abroad is usually an exciting experience for students to take advantage of during college. To have the opportunity to travel to Spain, Mexico, France, and many places overseas is any college student's dream.

Well, in my case, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a domestic exchange program at Fisk University, a historically black college located in Nashville, Tenn. During my spring semester as a junior, I had the chance to break new ground. Case Western Reserve University and Fisk University established a partnership in 2002 offering expanded opportunities in education and research for students, faculty, and staff.

The exchange program provided me with a culturally enriching experience while opening my eyes to another type of higher education at a different university. Fisk University has a very tight-knit community full of amazing students, professors, and scholars. I was welcomed with warm regards by the Fisk students, faculty, and staff. To have the distinguished opportunity to attend such a nationally historic college was truly an honor.

I appreciate Case Western Reserve University for its many efforts to provide students with innovative and unique opportunities to take advantage of during college. As I return to Case this fall, I hope to spread the word to all my fellow Case students about the many opportunities offered right here on our campus! I hope that my positive experience will ignite the trailblazing spirit in others to study away in the USA!
