Friday, Sept. 19

The Cleveland Museum of Art's "Art Talk" series (formerly known as "Art for Lunch") is hosting a special presentation, entitled "New York Fairytales: Helen Levitt's Photographs of Children." Levitt, one of the world's most renowned photographers, has captured New York City street scenes for almost 70 years and is even known by some as New York's "visual poet laureate." The event will be presented by doctorial candidate Rachel Geschwind. Time: 12:30 p.m. Cost: Free. Location: Cleveland Museum of Art Lecture Hall. Info: www.clevelandart.org

Saturday, Sept. 20

The Case Western Reserve University Film Society is teaming up with the Case Cycling Club to host two screenings of Peter Yates' classic film Breaking Away. Dennis Christopher, Dennis Quaid, and Daniel Stern star in the Academy Award- winning film that tells the story of a small town cyclist who works toward the day he can compete in a prestigious Italian cycling race. Monday, Sept. 22

Today marks the deadline for Case students to sign up for a Fall SatCo. The events will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28, and range from sky diving to rock climbing to simply exploring the city of Cleveland. Students can register for more than one SatCo, but space is limited. Students are advised to take a part in this once-a-semester opportunity! Time: Varies. Cost: Varies. Location: Varies. Tuesday, Sept. 23

After over 10 years of delivering exquisitely crafted and hard-driving power pop, Dressy Bessy is still going strong and heading to Cleveland Heights' Grog Shop. The Denver-based group recently released its latest album, Holler and Stomp, last Tuesday to fine reviews and much college radio airplay. Fans of the Apples in Stereo and their like-minded Elephant Six contemporaries won't want to miss out. The Very Knees and HotChaCha open. Time: 9 p.m. Cost: $8. Location: The Grog Shop. If indie power pop isn't quite your thing, then maybe you should check out what many consider to be one of the finest metal bands of this era, if not all time. Opeth is bringing its brand of progressive death metal to the Cleveland House of Blues in support of their recent, critically acclaimed release, Watershed. Their 2001 release, Blackwater Park, is considered by many to be one of the finest metal albums in history.

This show looks to be a must-see for anyone who has even the slightest interest in metal. High on Fire, Nachtmystium, and Baroness are slated to open. Time: Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m. Cost: $20-$23. Location: The House of Blues. Info: www.hob.com
