What: Alumni Authors Showcase and Reception (Homecoming event)

Where: Kelvin Smith Library, ONeill Reading Room

Time: 2-4 p.m.

Notes: Learn from alumni about their work and what to know about publishing. The panel will be followed by a book signing and reception and a chance to win a $100 Barnes & Noble gift card.

 

What: Home Movies: Yours and Ours (Homecoming event)

Where: Kelvin Smith Library, Hatch Reading Room

Time: 2-4 p.m.

Notes: Sneak preview of CWRUs archives and recently digitized films from the 1930s-2000s.

What: Michelson-Morley Experiment: 130th Anniversary with Case Amateur Radio Club (Homecoming event)

Notes: Free admission; Get on air, learn about the experiment and take a tour of the station.

 

What: Homecoming Parade Watch Party (Homecoming event)

Where: Linsalata Alumni Center, front lawn

Time: 10-11:30 a.m.

Notes: Free admission; watch student groups strut their stuff in the annual parade while enjoying snacks and showing school spirit.

 

What: Cars in Cleveland

Where: Cleveland Public Square

Time: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Notes: Free admission; Bernie Moreno Companies is assembling a large collection of exotic cars adding up to a worth of $30 million. Food, activities, performances and more.

 

What: Studio-A-Rama (Homecoming event)

Where: Museum of Contemporary Art

Time: 2 p.m.-midnight

Notes: Free admission; celebrate WRUW-FM 91.1s 50th anniversary as a radio station with local bandslive music and food trucks.

 

Sunday, Oct. 8

 

What: International Cleveland Community Day

Where: Cleveland Museum of Art

Time: 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Notes: Free admission; festival of more than 50 groups sharing their culture through music, dance and displays.

 

What: Homecoming Concert (Homecoming)

Where: Maltz Performing Arts Center

Time: 3-4:30 p.m.

Notes: Free admission; join the CWRU Symphonic Winds and Spartan Marching Band to celebrate past and present students of CWRU with the CWRU Alma Mater and Fight Song as well as other classic and beautiful tunes.

 

What: Cleveland Light the Night

Where: Wade Oval

Time: 5-9 p.m.

Notes: Free admission; the Walk funds life-saving research and support for people battling cancer. Lantern colors: white for survivors, red for support and gold for remembering a lost loved one. Music, food and ceremonies.
