Jacobson named UAA Diver of the Week

For the second time this season and for the fifth time in his career, Case Western Reserve University junior Daniel Jacobson has been named the University Athletic Association Diver of the Week.

Jacobson swept diving events in the Spartans’ 228-70 dual meet victory versus Allegheny College (Pa.) this past Saturday, January 19.

On the one-meter board, Jacobson posted an NCAA “B-Cut” score of 310.05 points. He then followed with a score of 281.50 in the three-meter event.

For his career, Jacobson holds a pair of school records in the one-meter (six dives) event as well as the three-meter (11 dives). In 2010-11, he was tabbed CWRU’s Bill Sudeck Rookie of the Year and placed second at the UAA Championship on the one-meter board.

The Spartans (12-2-1 overall) conclude the home portion of the 2012-13 schedule this Saturday, Jan. 26, with Seniors’ Day versus Ohio Northern University at 1:00 p.m.
