Men’s Soccer Remains Undefeated After Forced Tie

The men’s soccer team remained undefeated after Wednesday’s game, forcing a tie against Baldwin Wallace University. It was the third tie of the season for the Spartans. After a scoreless first half Baldwin Wallace scored the first goal of the game, when the Yellow Jackets’ Aaron Harden found the back of the net two minutes into the second half. The Spartans equalized on freshmen midfielder Brandon White’s goal in the 74th minute.  The late score in regulation forced the game into two overtimes as neither team was able to find the winning goal in extra time. The Spartans were able to out shoot the Yellow Jackets who managed only 14 shots, compared to the Spartan’s 28 shots. Wednesday’s match was a physical game with 21 fouls and three yellow cards between the two teams. The Spartans will play again next Tuesday, Sept. 17th away against Penn State- Behrend, leading up to their home opener Saturday, Sept. 21st against Franklin University.
