Notes: Free admission; Case Western Reserve University honors Martin Luther King, Jr. with this year’s celebration theme, “The Struggle Continues: The King Legacy and Fight for Justice in Education,” headlined by journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones.

 

What: Window to Sculpture Emerging Artist Opening Reception

Where: The Sculpture Center

Time: 5:30-8 p.m.

Notes: Free admission and parking; features works and “The Artist Talks” by Rachel Yurkovich and Zac Weinberg. More information is available on the Facebook event.

Where: Cleveland Public Theatre

Notes: Doors and lounge open 6:15 p.m.; $15 ticket for one night, $20 ticket for the full weekend; free beer; a festival-like atmosphere in which artists demonstrate works in progress.

Notes: CWRU eSports is organizing an outing to this event featuring many types of games—meet at RTA Red Line stops at 9:30 a.m. You will also be able to enter raffles for prizes.

 

What: The Future of the Book in a Digital Age

Notes: Free admission; Case Western Reserve University librarian will present an overview of the history and future of formats that have been used for understanding reading.

Notes: Free admission, but seating passes required; featuring tenor Corey Shotwell and pianist Gerardo Teissonnière in a concert performance
