Everyone knows the story of Abraham Lincoln.
He was the president who got the nation through a civil war, the president who ended slavery.
However, what if he had never made it to his inauguration before the Civil War started?
A presentation on campus next Monday may answer just that.
On Feb. 4, at 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein Building, award-winning author and Cleveland native Daniel Strashower will discuss the “The Baltimore Plot,” a real plan to assassinate Lincoln on his train ride to his 1862 inauguration. “The Baltimore Plot” is the subject of Strashower’s latest nonfiction book “The Hour of Peril.”
Strashower will be available to sign books after the talk.
The free event is open to the public, so registration, which can be done on the Baker-Nord Center’s website, is recommended. For more information on the event, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
