The Case Western Reserve University community is known for thinking beyond the possible. Each week, this column aims to capture a slice of campus life.
Q: What made you decide to work here?
A: I’ve never worked in a coffee shop before. It’s something new, and I just wanted to try something new and be around people. And I’m 20 so this lets me be around people my age.
Q: What’s your favorite part of your job?
A: My favorite part is communicating and seeing new people, seeing new personalities and seeing cultural perspectives. When I started working here, it was summertime, and different people came in. It was hot, and everybody was happy.
Q: Do you plan on working here a while, or do you have different plans for the future?
A: This is cool, but I want to be a psychologist. I’m not in school right now—I took a semester off—but I’m going to go back next semester. I took a semester off, because I moved, and I don’t have a car, so it was hard to get to school. I got a job and am going to save up some money to get a car. I was studying psychology and business. I like talking with people, hearing their problems and helping them. I’m a people person.
