CIA’s 66th Student Independent Exhibition
Every year CIA hosts this juried exhibition of work by the next generation of professional artists. Be one of the first to purchase fine art from blossoming artists and designers at low prices. What’s more, even if you don’t have a penny, the looks are free and will hopefully inspire you for a lifetime.

Brite Winter Festival
This massive outdoor winter festival incorporates art, music, beer, and food all condensed into a two-block area in Ohio City. This year, local artists have designed elaborate light sculptures and “truck” installations to be part of the festival. Bands such as Bad Veins, The Modern Electric, and Lighthouse and the Whaler will play in different venues at no charge.
Location: W 25th and 26th St., between the intersections of Lorain Ave. and Bridge Ave.

Unique Eats viewing party
Local restaurant Greenhouse Tavern, headed by celebrity chef Jonathon Sawyer, will be featured as a “local legend” on the Cooking Channel’s signature program “Unique Eats.” Join the crew and friends of Greenhouse to celebrate after hours, when they will be screening the episode straight from the restaurant. Complimentary appetizers will be provided.

Insanely popular dubstep artist Rusko will be performing in Cleveland. The event is not yet sold out, so you still have a chance to catch this Leeds College of Music graduate doing what he does best: throwing a party. One can only imagine how rowdy this party will be compared to past Girl Talk shows at the venue.

Classical Revolution Cleveland
Check out performances by Cleveland Classic Revolution, including graduate students of CIM and members of the Cleveland Orchestra, the third Tuesday of each month at this neighborhood bar. The mission of Classical Revolution Cleveland is to present chamber music performances in highly accessible venues, while collaborating with local musicians and artists from various styles and backgrounds.

Mardi Gras in Cleveland
We can’t all celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but we can still use this originally religious holiday as an excuse to party hard, be gluttonous, and show some boobies. You can see Cats on Holiday, a local Louisiana inspired blues band, play live and drum up the Cajun party of the year this upcoming Tuesday.

Public poetry workshop
A new year is here, and if one of your resolutions was to beef up your poetry skills, you’re in luck. Visible Voice’s poetry workshops happen the fourth Wednesday of each month. Bring your work-in-progress and receive friendly yet serious critiques by emerging and experienced writers. Don’t be shy!
