Greta Christina, a famous speaker and blogger on sexuality, religion, and feminism has been invited to Case by the Student Center for Inquiry to discuss how sexuality influences religion. Christina is a powerhouse with much to say, and in light of recent issues could illuminate the ways in which we think about things on campus.

The Cleveland Botanical Gardens is hosting their Annual Fall Book Sale. They have everything from horticulture, art history, religion, fiction, children’s, and science books to magazines, vinyl, and CD’s. Rare and first edition books are also up for grabs. All proceeds go to the Garden and the Elenor Squire Library.
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, October 20
The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus roll into town this week, celebrating the 200th birthday of P.T. Barnum, the “Greatest Showman on Earth”. Hobnob with elephants, acrobats, and clowns and eat your fill of peanuts and cotton candy. Celebrate living like a kid again.

Spectrum is hosting a Speed Dating Night in honor of Coming Out Week, however, students do not have to be gay, lesbian, or questioning to attend. The only thing mandatory is a craving for fun and some free pizza. Meet someone you’ve never seen before or get reacquainted with someone you didn’t know was looking.

MOCA is hosting DJ Jahi to play a live set with his band The Life as a compliment to a visual exhibition currently on display. Before the live show, Jahi will host a talk entitled “The Art of Emceeing” about stereotypes, misconceptions, and apprehensions about hip hop and rap music. The event is intended to rouse social awareness and is for fans of all ages.
