The Case Western Reserve University baseball team will host its annual game at Progressive Field on Thursday, April 19 against Muskingum University. The Spartans will host the Muskies at the home of the Cleveland Indians while honoring their nine senior student-athletes.
The Spartans are riding a five-game undefeated streak and are 19-10-1 so far this season, with their lone tie coming in 11 innings against Denison University on April 3. Muskingum sits at .500 with an 11-11 record, 5-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Muskies are 4-1 in the month of April and have made an impressive bounce back after a tough four-game losing streak, including a three-game sweep by Penn. State-Behrend.
Coming to Cleveland with the Muskies is Darren Garrett and the high-powered Muskingum offense. Garrett is hitting .402 and is first in the OAC in home runs and stolen bases. The Muskies have averaged over nine runs a game in the past five games and will put the pressure on the top-notch Spartan pitching staff.
Admission is free but all spectators are required to present a ticket at the gates before the game. Tickets can be found at the CWRU athletics website.
