Strut your Spartan and get your Gaga on: KATWalk 2010

Summer has now disappeared into the memories for another year, ushering in its wake the beginning of autumn. With the new season also arrives this year’s ever-changing montage of Spartan Style at KATwalk 2010, held tonight, Friday, October 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thwing Ballroom. Whether interested in Green Wear, Case Wear, Gaga Wear, or in Presenting-Your-Own-Wear, the Eta Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta brings students their annual philanthropy fashion show that will satisfy the visual appetites of many during this Homecoming weekend.

According to Rachel Paul, Theta’s Philanthropy Chair, “This year, the sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta are focusing on including student organizations outside of the Greek community to show off all of the different interests CWRU has to offer. It is our goal to promote all student groups and kick off Homecoming Weekend filled with school spirit.”

Tickets will be sold in Nord from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this morning for $3 or $5 at the door. All proceeds go to the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a group of volunteers who provide courtroom assistance for abused and neglected children.

So as the deep greens of summer give way to the fiery hues of autumn, KAT encourages students to promote their organizations, actively participate in philanthropy, have fun with friends and kick off Homecoming Weekend at KATwalk – in the beginning of October before all the leaves are shed to reveal the grey, skeletal branches of winter’s cold slumber.
