Kevin Nealon Stand-up

You may recognize this comedian from his seven-year stint on the hit Showtime series “Weeds” or his nine-year career on SNL. Nealon has also made a name for himself as a stand-up comic, with some recorded performances aired on HBO and Comedy Central. He’ll be in Cleveland doing his thing this weekend. The act is for those 21 and over.

Protest for LGBT Rights

A day of speakers, demonstrations, and a march is scheduled for this month’s protest for equality. A plethora of local LGBT-minded organizations and businesses will be present. The protests are in support of equal marriage and full equality rights. Symbolic weddings will be taking place in the Galleria.

Location: The Free Stamp, E 9th St. & Lakeside Ave.

Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Vegan-Palooza

This weekend try something different, specifically animal free! Eat delicious cupcakes, listen to live music, and try a variety of foods and drinks. A raffle will also be taking place with all proceeds going to benefit the APL. The event is hosted by Vegan Sweet Tooth bakery.

Study Break with the Dean

Students are invited to a series of study breaks with Jeffrey Wolcowitz, the dean of undergraduate studies. The study breaks are meant to give students a chance to chat with the dean in a casual setting about concerns or questions they may have. Refreshments will be provided.

This week, pretend you’re at the beach with the one, the only, sand art. While you’re enjoying your grainy masterpiece, you can chow down on pasta from Gallucci’s. But please, don’t mix your sand and sandwich.

Life, Evolution, and Hot Dogs

The monthly science talks at the Happy Dog are back, this month focusing on evolution. Two to three professionals in the field will be educating bar-goers on the ins and outs of biological evolution sciences, starting simple and taking more in-depth questions from the audience.

Rock and Roll Night School

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be hosting another edition of its acclaimed “night school,” this time focusing on the Post-Madonna Meltdown: women in rock at the turn of the millennium. The talk will school attendees on some of the biggest names in popular culture today, including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears. RSVP required for attendance.
