The red-hot Spartans were unable to hold on a nine-point lead as they lost to University of Rochester Friday night in New York. Their second game of UAA play this year the Spartans now stand at 1-1 in conference play and 9-4 overall.

Case started strong with a first half jumping out early with a pair of three-pointers from Dane McLoughlin and Tim Chung. Up by 14 with 2:42 left in the first half the Spartans had to settle for a 42-35 lead at the half. The Spartans started strong against going up by nine but Rochester went on a devastating and momentum changing 7-0 run with just under ten to play. The Spartans and Yellowjackets would trade blows as the teams fought for the lead. Yet it was a string of free throws that both kept Rochester in the game and boosted them to the lead. The now desperate Spartans had a few attempts to tie the game but both jumpers were short. Rochester secured their victory by deflecting the Spartan inbound pass with 2.7 seconds left on the clock and secured the tight 69-66 final.
