Spartan women’s soccer team lose to Brandeis amid inclimate weather
October 8, 2013
The Spartan women’s soccer team was put off their game on Saturday with multiple lightning delays contributing to the sloppy loss to Brandeis University.
The Case Western team looked to win at home in their first match of conference play. However, their typical strategy of taking as many shots as possible was inhibited by the conditions. During the first half, the Spartans took only three shots while the Judges took two.
The game was tied up until the 79th minute, when Brandeis scored on a crossing shot and barely beat the second lightning delay of the game for a score.
With the final few minutes delayed by weather, the Spartans were unable to create any sort of equalizing momentum and loss the match 0-1.
The team looks for an even split in conference play versus New York University next Saturday.
