Women’s Soccer profits off errors in win versus Ohio Wesleyan

The Spartan Women’s Soccer team is back on track after dropping three away games as they won their third straight game on Tuesday night. Case Western beat Ohio Wesleyan by a score of one to nothing in closely contested game.

Case Western dominated offensively out-shooting the Battling Bishops 32-10 for the game.  However they were unable to break through and no Spartan was able to find the back of the net in the entire 90 minutes. The winning goal was actually an own goal off an Ohio Wesleyan defender in the 80th minute. Leah Levey sent a strong cross into the box off a corner kick that was collected by Jessie Sabors. Sabors sent the ball toward the goal that was deflected prior to going into the net. That one own goal was enough though as the Spartans were able to hold off the Battling Bishops and collect the win. The Spartans will hope to continue on their strong start to the season when they play Brandeis University at 1:00 PM on Saturday Oct. 5th at Case Field to start UAA divisional play.
