The women’s soccer team beat The College of Wooster in a double overtime thriller at Case Field Tuesday night by a score of one to nothing. The Spartans, who advanced to 3-1, played a hard fought game against the previously undefeated Fighting Scots (4-1). Forward Jessie Sabers scored the game’s only goal in with 4:08 left in the second overtime.  Regulation was scoreless as the two teams battled back and forth with no clear leader. While the Spartans outshot the Scots nine shots to two in regular time they were still unable to break through the Scots defense. Case Western’s defense also played well, clearing most of Wooster’s late attacks. However the Scots retained their strong presence and battled the Spartans for 116 strong minutes, neither team able to break through. That changed when Sabers finished off Leah Levey’s corner kick to give the Spartans the win. The Spartans will play Thursday Sept. 12 away against Oberlin at 7PM.
