Notes: Join hip-hop artist blackbear for a night of R&B hosted by UPBeats. Free fanny packs will be distributed.

 

What: Cleveland International Film Festival
When: All weekend

Where: Tower City Cinemas
Notes: For the 42nd year, the Cleveland Film Festival will bring the newest and best films from around the world for your viewing enjoyment. Whether you are looking to learn more about other cultures, the subject at hand, the experiences behind the filmmaking or just an interesting film, the festival will leave you with new knowledge and a rewarding experience.

Notes: CWRU Footlighters hosts a fun night of music, food and performances.

 

Saturday, April 7

 

What: Free First Saturday at MOCA
When: 11 a.m-5 p.m
Where: Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland
Notes: Explore the entirety of MOCA for free and enjoy their current seasonal exhibit—Induction, a two-person exhibition that features new paintings, videos and glass sculptures by New York-based artist Tauba Auerbach.

What: Holi Festival
When: 1-4 p.m
Where: Freiberger Field
Notes: This colorful event will feature authentic Indian street food, an abundance of colored powder, water games, badminton and Holi and Basant traditions. A variety of student and community booths will feature games and other activities. The first 100 Case Western Reserve University guests will receive a free kite, and the first 400 CWRU guests will receive a free “CWRU” white T-shirt.

What: Lake Effect
When: 7-8:30 p.m
Where: Tinkham Veale University Center Ballroom
Notes: Hosted by IMPROVment, the annual Improv comedy festival will feature troupes from Bowling Green University, Rare Form Improv and CWRU’s own IMPROVment. Admission to the event is free and snacks will be provided during intermission.

What: Case Men’s Glee Club and Cornell University Glee Club Joint Concert
When: 8-9:30 p.m
Where: Church of the Covenant
Notes: The Case Men’s Glee Club will host a joint concert with the Cornell University Glee Club as part of the Great Lakes Tour. The groups will perform a diverse repertoire featuring folk songs and spirituals, grand selections from artists of the Renaissance and pieces from across the world. Door ticket price for students is $6 or $5 for pre-sale tickets.

When: 10 p.m-2 a.m
Where: Jolly Scholar
Notes: Help name the next batch of beers. Come compete to win naming rights by testing your beer knowledge and dedication to Jolly.
